Night Survival Guide — Hold the Line After Dark

When the sun sets, Protect the Border stops being a paperwork job. Waves of enemies attack the checkpoint, every night is worse than the last, and bosses appear as the days advance. Surviving the night is a preparation game played during the day.

What changes at night

  • Enemy waves attack the checkpoint in escalating strength
  • Bosses appear as days advance — “every boss bigger”; specific boss forms and mechanics are not officially documented yet (pending verification)
  • The goal is to hold the line: if enemies cross the border breach, the defense fails

Daytime preparation phase

What you do before sunset decides whether you live through it:

  • Stock supplies — ammunition and health items ready before dark
  • Clear the backlog — process as many travelers as possible during the day; unprocessed vehicles pile up while you fight
  • Positioning — identify the best defensive spots near the checkpoint; know your cover
  • Balance income vs. safety — easy bribes make nights worse; a strong economy is useless if you die

Active combat

  • Threat priority — target the closest or most dangerous enemy first, not whoever is easiest to hit
  • Avoid swarms — don’t let enemies surround you or your team; keep an exit
  • Use cover — the checkpoint structures block incoming fire; fight from them, not in the open

Recovery

  • Loot safely — grab supplies only when the area is clear
  • Regroup — return to a safe position to heal and reload
  • Reset — prepare the checkpoint layout for the next wave

Boss encounters

Bosses grow bigger with every day, but specific boss names, patterns and weaknesses are not officially documented — the developer has not published details, and several third-party wikis fill this gap with invented content. Until in-game verification, treat any “boss strategy” claim with caution.

The bribe connection

Travelers you let through during the day come back at night. The bribe economy and night difficulty are linked: every dangerous suspect you wave through for cash makes the waves harder. When you take bribes, you’re buying money with future pain.

Co-op roles at night

  • Primary defender — holds the checkpoint line
  • Support — covers flanks, watches for swarms
  • Runner — loots and resupplies while others fight

Division of roles between inspection (day) and defense (night) is the core of 4-officer strategy.
